We set off our journey to the Everest High altitude Trek by adopting an exciting mountain flight to Tenzing Hillary Airport, Lukla, we trek up through the classic route to the Sagarmatha National Park landscapes, Monasteries & Gompas nearby we move towards the Everest Base Camp marveling at the spectacle of Khumbu icefall and gushing from the Western . The hike to the outlook of Kalapatthar Following the classical route, we descent to Lukla and fly back to Kathmandu with the imprinted beauty of landscapes.

Best Season for Everest Base Camp Trek

Autumn season from September to November is the best season to trek EBC. But from April to May and even mid-June is also one of the best time for EBC trekking. During this time the weather is not so cold as winter and get a chance to view a clear peak. The month of September to November is a small window of opportunity to view the best state of the Mt.Everest. During this time you will have less number of people, more peaceful and favorable weather.

Itinerary


Day 1 Welcome to Nepal.

Activities: Somebody sowing to your name lest next to Taxi line when you out from exit hall. Look at your name lest then drive to your hotel Thamel. Look around Thamel & buy the trekking equipment. Today easy day meet with your trekking guide then interdiction. Guide will let you know which time we need to go airport. Make a ready to your backpack which is you bring to mountain, Useless thing better to leave behind in hotel. Mention that before heading bed tells to the hotel staff makes a ready to your breakfast next day morning.

Day 2 Kathmandu to Lukla by plain then Phakding (2845m, 2660m).

Walking time: 4 hour.

Activities: Wake up early having breakfast then be a ready on time guide will be comes to your hotel then drive to airport. Depend on the weather if the clear day you will get on time if bad weather you need to wait in waiting hall as a whole day until 2 pm. When you go Lukla try to go fast in Airplane then chose seat left hand side because you will see nice Mountain View. It is only 35 min to go by plane then you will get Lukla (2845m).Mention that pretty cold compare to KTM. Now your guide find the porter then stopping for tea close to airport, if you fell cold wear some cloth then finally out trek start gradually downhill all the way to Phakding(2660m). Now we are already in Buddhist realign area you will see many mane wall, monastery & pray wheel along the way also you will see some local Sherpa village, farming land & Mountain View.

Day 3 Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3420m).

Walking hour: 5 to 6 hour.

Activities: Today we have follow bank of Dudh Kosi River until junction of dudh kosi & vote Kosi River. Along the way you will pass many guest house and farming land also some of water fall & pine forest. Mention that trail is busy with local porter & mule, please be a safe & passing them ahead but trail are narrow you have to leave the trail not in river side better to go lap of mountain side. Frequently we have to pass suspension bridge. When we go last high suspension bridge then trail goes steeply uphill to Namche. Today chances to see wild life then Nepali national bird (Danfe) many variety of bird. When you walk 1.5 hour you will get to 1st Everest view point stop there. If the weather are good you will see Mt. Everest, lho-che,Thamserku mountain view. Then continues go uphill ahead there is police check post show your National park permit entry your name then within 45 m you will get to Namche Bazaar.

Day 4 Acclimatizing Day.

Activities: Check the weather then after breakfast go to the 1st hill close to army camp look around the panoramic Mountain View then visit the museum. Now decide you like to go further up to Everest view hotel or back to hotel, but almost same view only the thing bit higher. If you are interested to go Everest view hotel you have to go another 2 hour up & 1 hour down to the hotel. Along the way you will see many Yaks grazing on pasture. Also you will see Nepali highest Shyangboche airport (3790m).Then back to hotel stay overnight.

Day 5 Namche to Tangboche (3870m).

Walking hour: 5 to 6

Activities: Today after breakfast almost 15 minutes uphill through house than trail goes almost flat all the way to Sanasa. Now you have an option to go Gokyo either EBC.Now you go downhill all the way to river side then another 2 hour you need go uphill to Tangboche. Today you have one of the most magnificent views. When you get Tenboche do not forget to visit monastery, every day after 3 pm lama reading holy book & blessing every trekkers who are heading to EBC.

Day 6 Tangboche to Dingboche (4360m).

Walking hour: 5.5

Today try to wake up early before sunrise go outside then make a picture as much as you like then, First part easy downhill through forest until deboche then until bridge flat when you crass the bridge slightly uphill rest of the trail. Today main view you see Amadublam,lho-thse, Tawathse & popular climbing pick island pick.

Day 7 Acclimatization Day.

Activities: Today you have much option to do heading to Chhukung, or Amadublam base camp either Nangkartshang hill. Any option guide will be follow you just decide before hiking. I will suggest going Nangkartshang because you will get up to 5000 m high & good Mountain View.

Day 8 Lhobuche (5000m).

Walking hour: 5

Activities: The trail goes to left hand side over the rage. Pretty Napali standard flat until Thugla then uphill start all the way to lobuche.Today you will see many Yaks garaging around the pasture, over the Thugla pass you will see memorial stupa & pray flag hanging on the hill. You will offer to see from pass Tawche, Cholache, Amadublam, Thamserku, Pumari,Nuptse & Kusumkankaru mountain view.

Day 9 Gorakshep & EBC (5165m).

Walking hour: 3+4

Activities: Wake up early then after breakfast pretty easy walk about an hour then you need to go over the Glacier which is up and down. Today you will see big Khumbu Glacier,Kalapather, Pumari, EBC, Nuptse, Lingtung,Lho-la, & Everest mountain view. It take to go Gorakshep about 3 hour then leave your bag behind in to your hotel then after lunch continues heading to base camp. Finally you are 5345m high from see label congratulation. After photo does not stay longer cuz you have to go back to your hotel. Both ways take to you around 4 hour & stay overnight.

Day 10 Hike Kalapather then back to Phariche (5545m/4200m).

Walking hour: 4+3.5

Mention that tomorrow you have to start 2.5 hour before the sunrise. Guide will let you know after dinner what time sunrise suppose to be. To climb Kalapather challenging but this is your final goal try to be a ready physically & mentally. When you are top of Kalapather then you will see 360* magnificent panoramic mountain view. This is one of the highest points to your trek which is 5545m. After picture descant to Gorakshep then continues back to Lobuche same way fallow until Thugla Hotel.Next to hotel cross river then go right down to the valley, finally you are Phriche stay overnight in teahouse.

Day 11 Namche (3420m).

Walking hour: 6.5

Most of the trail you know already we need to fallow same way until Namche. Mention that still there are up and down hill & long distance too. Good thing you will back to tree line today & fill you have enough oxigan. After long hike you will back to Namche then take a shower have a fist food, drinking beer Spend the time which way you like.

Day 12 Lukla (2845m).

The trail descends along ridge through pine forest until high suspension bridge then rest of the trail goes easy until Lukla. When you are in Lukla say good bye to your trekking staff mention that they are expecting tip make them happy. Guide let you know which time your flight for next day then be a prepared on time.

Day 13 Fly back to Kathmandu.

Today have a breakfast then guide take you to the airport mention that depending on the weather. If it is nice weather you will fly on time either you have to wait for next day. At the end batter to have couple buffer day. Stay overnight in hotel which is includes your tour package.

Day 14 Final Departure

Time for good bye. We arrange your transport to airport. Mention that you have to remain us what time you have to go airport.

Equipment & Packing List


Trekkers require bring during trekking flowing equipment.

Sleeping

  • Tent (necessary for treks  camping trek )
  • Sleeping bag (–15° bag will suffice on most treks , it  can  be  rented in Kathmandu )
  • Sleeping pad
  • Silk liner

Hiking

  • Backpack (size depends on whether or not you have porters)
  • Hiking boots (break them in beforehand)
  • Camp shoes (your reward after a long day)
  • Wool socks (bring a few pairs extra  of varying thickness)
  • Lightweight trekking pants
  • Trekking shorts
  • T-Shirts (lightweight wool is great)
  • Crampons (high elevation where we are going  for mountain pass)

 

Cold Weather

  • Long underwear/Wool thermals
  • Fleece Sweater
  • Water proof jacket and pants
  • Heavy weight pants for high elevations (good for camping trek)
  • Heavy down jacket (can be rented in Kathmandu)
  • Winter hat
  • Winter gloves

Accessories

  • Water purification (pump, tablets, or SteriPen ,)
  • Diamox
  • Fever and  headache medicine
  • Water bottles (at least 2  liters total capacity)
  • Baseball cap (the sun is strong at all elevations)
  • Hiking poles (lessen the impact on your joints)
  • Sunglasses (essential when you cross snow line)
  • Head lamp with extra batteries
  • Journal and pens
  • Camera with extra batteries
  • Daypack (for your rain jacket, snacks, camera, etc.)
  • Heavy-duty duffle bag (preferred by porters)
  • Gators (many people wear them but they are not mandatory)

Personal Supplies

  • Sun screen
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, floss, etc.)
  • Biodegradable bar soap
  • Face/body wipes
  • Biodegradable washing liquid
  • Throat lozenges, lip balm
  • Medications (ibuprofen, others if necessary)

Extras

  • Duct tape (fixes just about everything, at least temporarily. To avoid carrying an entire roll wrap the desired amount around a pencil)
  • First aid kit (with moleskin for blisters)
  • Extra passport photos and photocopies of your passport

    I got to know Nepal Royal through some friend’s recommendation so I decided to do my EBC trip with them. Overall, the service was excellent. We traveled with Ganesh as our guide and he always looked so happy, no matter what the situation is. He was super friendly and helpful too, even after the trip.

  14. Amazing Trip to EBC
    In end of Dec 2018, I went to Kathmandu for EBC trekking. In actual I was solo trekker. But since there was some problems happened during trekking, Ganesh and team help me a lot.

    Ganesh sincerely helped me to solve AMS and short breath troubles. He reacted and actioned quickly, to ensure the condition is getting better. He also served very well for his customer.
