Bhumthang valley trek introduces you to the rural life of Bhutanese. It is about solving the mystery of Bhutan that has been bewildered for years and has attracted the whole world. Bumthang valley trek is the religious heartland of Bhutan and is home to some religious and oldest Buddhist temples and monasteries. This trekking is exceptional unlike any other in the Himalayas. The trial of the trek leads through the alpine rhododendron forest passing by the foothills of the snow peaked Himalayas and the crystal clear lakes. The trek journey is long but long paths and beautiful views make the entire trek meaningful.
Bumthang cultural trek passes through Choekhor and Tang valley, which moves forward passing through the Bumthang’s remote villages and temples. The trek consists of about 500m to Phephe La. Hike to Taktsang Monastery will take you to an authentic scenic beauty, exceptional village settlements, breathtaking panoramic views of mountains and unique and preserved cultural heritage. In this entire trek, you will get chance to witness unique and surprising craftsmanship of Bhutanese people. This trek will provide you the opportunity of observing the unique lifestyle of Bhutanese people from very close distance which will be a lifetime memory for you.
Bhutan Bumthang Cultural Trek ~ Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival in Tribhuvan International Airport.
You will be received by our airport representative and will be transferred to the hotel. Overnight in a tourist hotel.
Day 2
Full day sightseeing in Kathmandu valley.
This day will be spent by observing cultural and religious places of Kathmandu valley.
Day 3
Take flight to Paro from Kathmandu and then we drive to Thimphu.
On the way to Paro, you will experience breath- taking views of Mount Everest, Kanchenjunga and other famous Himalayan peaks of Nepal including the sacred Jhomolhari and Mount Jichu Drake of Bhutan. You also visit the National Museum and Paro Rinpung Dzong.
Day 4
Full day sightseeing in Thimphu and overnight in a hotel.
Day 5
The entire trip will move towards Tongsha from Thimphu which is about 7 hr drive from Thimphu.
Day 6
Trip to Bumpthang.
After having breakfast, trip will drive to Bumpthang from Thimphu which could take about 3 hrs by vehicle. After reaching the place, we go for sightseeing in the afternoon and overnight in a hotel.
Day 7
Full day sightseeing in Bumpthang and overnight in a hotel.
Day 8
Start trek from Bumpthang and reach at Ngalakhang. Overnight in the camp.
Day 9
We precede towards Ugyenchholing after having food at Ngalakhang, we reach Ugyenchholing after a normal walk of 5 hrs.
Day 10
We trek to Tang valley from Ugyenchholing which takes about 5 hrs to reach Tang valley and overnight in a hotel.
Day 11
We go to Punakha from Bumpthang. It is only a driving distance of 8 hrs, here we will have picnic lunch at Chendebji.
Day 12
We drive to Thimphu and have lunch. After having lunch, we again move ahead to Paro.
Day 13
We fly to Kathmandu in the morning flight. Rest day and shopping.
