Manaslu Region
The Manaslu Region is one of Nepal’s most dramatic trekking areas, centered on Mount Manaslu, the eighth-highest mountain in the world at 8,163 meters. It is best known for the classic Manaslu Circuit Trek, but it also includes the beautiful Tsum Valley, which is home to traditional villages such as Chumling, Chhokangparo, Nile, and other settlements that still preserve a strong Tibetan Buddhist culture. Trekkers often pass through places like Soti Khola, Machha Khola, Jagat, Deng, Namrung, Samagaun, Samdo, and Dharamsala before crossing the challenging Larkya La Pass. The region is also linked with peaceful spiritual sites such as Serang Gompa, a remote monastery that adds a quiet, cultural side to the journey. With deep valleys, suspension bridges, ancient monasteries, prayer walls, and wide mountain views, Manaslu offers a trek that feels remote, authentic, and rewarding. It is a great choice for trekkers who want fewer crowds, rich local culture, and a true high-Himalayan experience.
