When to trek

You can go to Annapurna Base Camp Trek throughout the year. Still, the monsoon is not considered as a good time. During the evening or night, there is heavy rainfall but the dark clouds are ever present. This means you cannot get the chance to view clearly. It also means mosquitoes, leeches, slippery roads and possible landslides. But, this is the time when animals are most active. If you are a keen biologist, then monsoon is best for you.

The best seasons to trek to Annapurna Base Camp are From mid-September to November (autumn) and March to May (spring). During the hike, it provides glorious blooming rhododendron flowers during the month of March, April, and May. June to August (monsoon) is the rainy months but has clear sky sometimes.

If you would like to avoid crowd then it is suggested to trek in winter (December – February). The temperature is cold in the mornings but tolerable and it is warm during day hikes and clear sky with the view most of the days.

Day 1

Arrived at Kathmandu Airport.

Upon arrival at the airport, a team member will greet you and transfer you to the hotel in Thamel. Thamel, situated in the heart of Kathmandu, is a lively area filled with restaurants, bars, and shops selling unique Nepalese products and trekking gear. You’ll have the opportunity to explore this vibrant area. You’ll also meet our guide on the same day, who will address any questions or concerns you may have about your Annapurna Base Camp trek.

Day 2

Take a drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara by tourist bus/privet jeep/flight (910m/2,985ft).

Wake up early today, have breakfast at the hotel, and prepare for departure to Pokhara. There will be a road trip by tourist bus that includes scenic views of mountains, rivers, temples, and rural villages. When you reach Pokhara, you will check in at the hotel, and if you have some energy left, you can go on a side trip around the lakeside. Today’s late night at Pokhara lake side with three star standard hotel.

If you flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara its take 30 minutes.

Day 3

Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul then trek to Tikhedhunga (1,495m/5,050ft)

Today you’ll wake up early, have breakfast, and prepare for a long hike. The destination for this day is Tikhedhunga, for which you’ll take a 1 hour 30 minutes minute drive to Nayapul.

Further, the trek starts from Nayapul with a small break at Birethanti. The walk goes through the pristine bamboo forest, giant cascades, terraced fields, and small villages. Likewise, you’ll stroll past Ramghai village, walking alongside the Modi Khola (river) way up to Tikhedhunga.

Day 4

Trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2,850m/9,348ft)

Today, you have quite a long journey to Ghorepani. After a hot breakfast at Tikhedhunga, you’ll cross a suspension bridge and climb steep stone steps toward Ulleri, a lovely Magar village. we will take some break there.

After the break, hike ahead, crossing beautiful streams to reach Nangethanti for lunch. Leaving Nangethanti, you’ll head to the traditional Ghorepani village. Throughout the trail, you will have appreciating views of the all-encompassing annapurna Himalayan ranges.

Day 5

Hike to Poonhill (3,210m/10,530ft) and Trek to Tadapani (2,500m/8,200ft)

You will experience one of the most beautiful moments of the day with a morning walk to Poonhill. Poonhill is a hill station that offers stunning sunrise views overlooking the majestic Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. After a memorable time at Punhil, return to Ghorepani, have breakfast, and proceed to Tadapani. To reach Tadapani, the trek continues along the hills and quiet forests.

Day 6

Tadapani to Chhomrong (2,020m/6,1625ft)

Today you will trek to Chomrong village, where you can meet ethnic Gurung communities. This is the main entrance to Annapurna. On the way to Chomrong, you will slowly descend passing rhododendron forests, suspension bridges and crop fields. As the trail follows a dense forest, you can spot a variety of wildlife on the trek. On reaching the village, the view of Machapuchhre, Nithchuli and the incomparable mountains of Annapurna South can be seen in front of eyes..

Day 7

Chhomrong to Dovan (2,600m/8,528ft)

Today we will say good bye to Chomrong and go to Dobhan. You will descend 2,500 stone steps and cross a suspension bridge over the Chomrong River. Follow the rocky terrains till Sinuwa village, through dense forest towards Kuldhar (2,380m). Then you get down on the bamboo and slowly go to Dovan. stay overnight at Dobhan.

Day 8

Dovan to Deurali (3,200m/10,500ft)

Today you will proceed along a damp path that passes through thick bamboo groves. The soothing sound of bamboo leaves soothes the soul, and the enchanting rhododendron forest accompanies us on the way to Deurali. Passing the Himalayan Hotel, climb past Hinku Cave, and just above is Deurali, where you will spend the night.

Day 9

Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4,230m/13,550ft) via Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3,712m/12,178ft)

Today you’ll finally reach the most awaited Annapurna Base Camp following the riverbed along the steep trail. The views of the Machhapuchhre, Hiunchuli, Annapurna, Gangapurna, and others are beautiful. We’ll pass through the forest and hike for two hours to get to the Annapurna Base Camp. Before we reach ABC, we will traverse the Machhapuchre Base Camp. Seeing the inter-dimensional perfection of the Annapurna massif is breathtaking. The view of the 10th highest peak in the world right in front of us is fantastic.

Day 10

Trek to Bamboo (2,310m/7,575ft)

After enjoying our stay at ABC, we’re heading down the same path to Modi Khola and taking the route towards Bamboo (1,700 m). There are lodges and tea houses in the place surrounded by mountains. You’re going to love the fresh air and the calm atmosphere.

Day 11

Trek to Jhinu Danda (1,780m/5,840ft)

Continuing to follow the Khuldigar path, we head toward Chomrong. you’ll see the Sheep experimental farm, one of the exciting highlights of the trek. You will get to see large herds of sheep. We’ll enjoy the splendid rhododendron clusters in red, yellow, and white shades. The colorful flowers of the green forests are a wonderful sight to enjoy. Going down to Jhinu Hot Spring, we will reinvigorate the famous natural hot spring after a long hike.

Day 12

Return from Jhinu Danda to Pokhara (9,10m/2,985ft)

Following the trail along the Modi Khola, we head back to Pokhara. Before reaching Pokhara, we will bypass the villages of Siwai. The journey from there takes about 2 hours drive to reach Pokhara.

Day 13

Drive / flight back to Kathmandu.

After breakfast set ours journey back to Kathmandu you can travel by tourist bus/ private transport or by flight. Then stay overnight at Kathmandu.

Day 14

Final Departure

Depending on your flight schedule, you might have some leisure time to further explore Kathmandu after breakfast. One of our team members will then accompany you to the airport a few hours before your departure time, carrying with you unforgettable memories from your Annapurna Base Camp trek.
