Bhairav Kunda Trek is a divine trek towards the Northeast of the Kathmandu valley near the Tibetan border. It is an unexplored trekking destination of Nepal. Bhairav Kund is named after the destructive aspect of Lord Shiva (Bhairav). It is one of the sacred pilgrimage sites for Shamans and is visited by both Hindus and Buddhist devotees to pay homage and bathe away sins during every Bhadra Full Moon and is marked prime position in both Hindu and Buddhist religion. Along with its spiritual importance, this trekking trip is also adventurous and exciting. Various tourists also join the trek to explore the typical Nepali culture and view some of the incredible Himalayan range.
Bhairav Kunda trek offers a picturesque view of Rolwaling range, Jugal Himal range and some of the Tibetan mountain as well. The trekking route is decorated with pristine nature, unspoiled culture, and majestic scenes of the Himalayan range. Bhairav Kunda is situated at an elevation about 4,200m above sea level and is a famous Hindu pilgrimage of Nepal. Bhairav Kunda trekking trail offers a combination of rich cultural heritage, utmost beauty and biological and traditional diversity. The journey to Bhairav Kunda trekking starts from Jalbire and ends at Larche then drive back to Kathmandu. Throughout the trek, trekkers will get to see many small villages inhabited mainly by Newars, Gurungs, and Sherpa. The trek will also pass through the thick alpine forest mainly comprising Rhododendron and oak which is inhibited with many endangered animals like snow leopard, red panda, Himalayan black bear etc.
