Getting Tourist Visa For Nepal

Two Ways to Apply for Your Tourist Visa

Application Method How It Works & Validity
1. Before You Travel Apply at the Nepalese Diplomatic Mission or Embassy in your home country. Once issued, you must enter Nepal within 6 months from the visa issuance date.
2. Visa on Arrival Get your visa at the Immigration Office at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu. The process is quick and simple, though lines can form during peak trekking seasons.

The 3-Step “Visa on Arrival” Process

Step Action Required Important Details
01 Fill Out Your Forms Fill out the arrival card and the online “Tourist Visa” form. You can pre-fill this form on the official Department of Immigration website before you fly to get a barcode receipt (valid for 15 days), or use the kiosk machines inside the airport terminal on arrival.
02 Pay the Visa Fee Proceed to the bank counter inside the airport terminal to pay your visa fee. It is highly recommended to carry the exact amount in crisp, clean USD cash to avoid any payment delays.
03 Get Your Stamp Present your completed online form receipt, your bank payment receipt, and your passport (must be valid for at least 6 months) to the immigration officer at the desk to receive your official entry visa.
