Visa Information

The easiest way to get your visa for Nepal is on-the-spot visa on arrival in Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, and also at border entry points of Nepal. For all travelers, a Visa is a must to enter Nepal, except for the Indian National residents. The passport holders who are the member states of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) more than 3 months are also not be charged visa fees. Those intending to visit Nepal by exiting India may get a visa at Kakadvitta, Birgunj, Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj, Gaddachowki or also at Kodari on Nepal-China border. One may also get a visa at the nearest Nepal Embassy or Diplomatic Mission.

Tourist Entry Visa

15 Days Multiple Entry Passport US$ 25 or equivalent convertible currency

30 Days Multiple Entry Passport US$ 40 or equivalent convertible currency

90 Days Multiple Entry Passport US$ 100 or equivalent convertible currency

Gratis (Free) Visa

Gratis 30-Day Visa For South Asian Countries Only

A gratis visa for 30 days is offered only to the nationals of South Asian countries like Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka for the first visit in one visa year (January to December).

Tourist Visa Extension

Visa extension fee for 15 days or less is US$30 or equivalent convertible currency. The visa extension fee for more than 15 days is US$2 per day. Tourist visa can be extended for a maximum period of 150 days in a single visa year (January – December).

Transit Visa

A transit visa for one day can be obtained from Nepal’s immigration offices at the entry points upon the production of departure flight ticket via Tribhuvan International Airport in Nepal, by paying US$5 or equivalent convertible currency.

Note: Other Information- Nationals from Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Cameroon, Somalia, Liberia, Ethiopia, Iraq, Palestine, and Afghanistan are required to get their visa from Nepal Embassies or Diplomatic Missions in their respective countries as they are not eligible to get a visa on arrival at the immigration entry points of ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌Nepal.
