Day 1
Arrival at Kathmandu Airport - Welcome to Nepal

Welcome to the land of Himalayas. After arriving at Tribhuvan International Airport, our team at Nepal Royal Tourism Holiday will transfer to your hotel at Thamel. You can explore the rest of the day there or go head to Kathmandu Durbar Square area, explore local markets and enjoy some local foods. In the evening we hold a trek briefing, check gear, and prepare permits for the trek.
Day 2
Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara
- Altitude: 822 m

After having breakfast in the capital, you will leave for the scenic mountain highway and enjoy the trip to Pokhara. This drive follows the Trishuli and Marshyangdi rivers, along with hill valleys and hilly villages. Along the driveway, you will get a glance of Annapurna range and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail). Arriving in Pokhara (822 m), a beautiful lakeside city, you will have time to rest by Phewa Lake, explore around the lakefront, or prepare gear for trekking.
Day 3
Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul and Trek to Ulleri

Enjoy a morning Morning drive by jeep/bus, approximately one hour and head at Nayapul (915 m). From Nayapul, you begin trekking, first following the Modi Khola river and passing through villages like Birethanti. The trail soon ascends through small settlements including Hile and Tikhedhunga. The afternoon is a steady ascent up the famous stone steps of Ulleri village (2,050 m). From Ulleri you can enjoy great views of Hiunchuli (6,441 m) and Annapurna South (7,219 m) as the sun sets.
Day 4
Trek from Ulleri to Ghorepani
- Altitude: 2,880 m
- Trek Duration: 5-6 hours
- Trek Distance: 11 km

The walk up the hill today passes through dense rhododendron wood and oak. This path goes upwards, beyond Banthanti (2,210 m) and Nangethanti (2,460 m), with the morning showcasing south and east faces of Annapurna and Hiunchuli . By mid-afternoon you will arrive in Ghorepani (2,860 m), a lovely Gurung village on a ridge. Ghorepani provides beautiful panoramic views of Dhauligiri and Annapurna Himalaya ranges, and the teahouse here has the feel of a small mountain village.
Day 5
Reach Poon Hill and trek to Tadapani

You should wakeup quite early and start your trek before the dawn. It take around 30-45 minutes to reach the viewpoint here you can enjoy the first light colors Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) and the whole range in gold. Having soaked in 360 degree panorama it is time to get back to Ghorepani, have a breakfast and resume the same path heading north through the mute Gurung villages, by rhododendron forests. You will reach Tadapani (2,630 m) in the evening.
Day 6
Trek from Tadapani to Chhomrong
- Altitude: 2,165m
- Trek Duration: 6-7 hours
- Trek Distance: 12 km
- Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
- Accommodation: Teahouse in Chhomrong
Beginning with Tadapani the path runs off on a steep descent through bamboo groves and through forest. You will then cross little streams and pass by local farm houses of Gurung and Magar communities. You get to Chhomrong (2,170 m) a large Gurung village located on a ridge in mid afternoon. Chhomrong is loved by tourists due to its widespread views of the Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre. The place is analso entry point into the Annapurna Sanctuary and even border to the Annapurna Conservation Area. Get a good rest for the night in this hospitable village lodge, and then start your journey again on to the high mountains.
Day 7
Trek from Chhomrong to Dovan
- Altitude: 2600 m
- Trek Duration: 5-6 hours
- Trek Distance: 9 km
- Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
- Accommodation: Teahouse in Himalaya Village
Leaving Chhomrong you cross the river of Modi Khola by suspension bridges and start climbing with a green forest. The route goes Sinuwa and on to Bamboo (2,310 m) then up through jungle steadily to Dovan (2,600 m) and Deurali (3,200 m). As you come close to the base of the enormous mountains, the Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and Machhapuchhre are visible. By afternoon you come to Himalaya (3,250 m), an isolated village set on a very small ledge. The view that they hold here is breath-taking, the Annapurna Sanctuary full of snow and rock collide around you, and the Himalayas is very close at hand.
Day 8
Trek from Dovan to Annapurna Base Camp
- Altitude: 4,130 m
- Trek Duration: 6-7 hours
- Trek Distance: 12 km
- Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

This is a big day Out in the Himalayas. You cross the crossroad of Machhapuchhre Base Camp (MBC, 3,700 m) at which some trekkers make a small side trip to have the close-up view of Machhapuchhre, and further into Annapurna Base Camp (ABC). Towards the end of the afternoon you enter the Annapurna Sanctuary (4,130 m). At this point, there are big mountains on every side: Annapurna I (8,091 m), Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchhre and the Annapurna massif . It is some deep, deep stuff, the entire Himalayan scenery is yourstoenjoy.
Day 9
Trek from Annapurna Base Camp to Dovan
- Altitude : 2,630 m

After breakfast with morning views of the peaks at ABC, begin descending the same route. The first part is over rocks and moraines, then down through bamboo and forest as you follow the Modi Khola river valley. Enjoy relaxed afternoon hiking as the temperature rises and greenery is back too. By early evening you reach Dovan (2,600 m). Enjoy your evening and rest for the night at the forested riverside campsite.
Day 10
Trek from Dovan to Jhinu Danda
- Altitude: 2,600 m
- Trek Duration: 4-5 hours

- Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
- Accommodation: Teahouse in Jhinu Danda
The early trek goes down through the subtropical forests of Modi Khola. The road is bordered with bamboo and rhododendron, and you can probably hear some birds or even Langur monkeys. At noon you arrive in the village of Jhinu Danda (1,780 m). There is a natural hot springs in this village, on the riverbank, which is an excellent end of all fatigued legwork . Bath in the spring waters by paying additional charge and have rest in the afternoon. The tea houses of Jhinu are plain yet peaceful beauty and is located along the river with the view of the falls and hills.
Day 11
Trek from Jhinu Danda to Landruk
- Altitude: 1,780 m
- Trek Duration: 4-5 hours
- Trek Distance: 10 km
- Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
- Accommodation: Teahouse in Landruk
You walk out of the valley of the Modi Khala after your breakfast on a moderate trail over the wooded settlements and the terraced fields. The path runs past a number of small Sherpa and Gurung villages with Annapurna South right in in the horizon. Later in afternoon you come to an attractive Gurung village of stone houses and prayer flags called Landruk (1,565 m). From Landruk, you can enjoy spectacular panoramas of Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre.
Day 12
Trek from Landruk to Low Camp
- Altitude: 3050 m
- Trek Duration: 3-4 hours
- Trek Distance: 6 km
- Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
- Accommodation: Teahouse in Low Camp
Entering the Mardi Himal section, you leave Landruk on a little path leading into isolated agricultural villages such as Siding or Ghalel. Today’s hike is relatively short, and we arrive at Forest Camp (1,900 m) in middle of the day, The camp sits above the valley floor and offers excellent views back to Annapurna and Machhapuchhre. Enjoy the peaceful forest setting and prepare for the steeper trails for low camp.
Day 13
Trek from Low Camp to High Camp
- Altitude: 3600 m
- Trek Duration: 6-7 hours
- Trek Distance: 10 km
- Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
- Accommodation: Teahouse
This is a hard day of constant climbing. The road follows a slow but steady ascending path through rhododendron and bamboo, and above 3,000 m, this is changed towards open alpine trail. The trees slowly disappear as you see the Sherpa mountains as you climb. Then, after a not so good morning for your legs, you have lunch at Badal danda (3,250 m), and continue along the ridge .You will arrive at High Camp (3,800 m) towards the end of the afternoon. Here the view is beautiful as you see Machhapuchhre (6,993 m) and Annapurna South at a very close distance and the entire Annapurna valley runs along the horizon. . This is where this high camp will be the ideal place to acclimatize before the day of the final ascent.
Day 14
Reach Mardi Himal Base Camp and return to Low Camp
- Altitude of Mardi Himal Base camp: 4500 m
- Trek Duration: 7-8 hours
- Trek Distance: 15 km
- Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
- Accommodation: Teahouse in Low Camo
Wake up early and go to Mardi Himal Base Camp (4,500 m). It is followed by a beautiful sunrise on the massif of Annapurna-Dhauligiri as one rewards the initial ascent. The ridges will offer you a panorama view at 360degrees of the snowy mountains such as, Mardi Himal itself (5,553 m) and Machhapuchhre, Everest and Annapurna ranges. Soak your eyes with all the beautiful sceneries and go back to Low Camp (3,050 m) which is your home to night. It is this last sight of the high Himalaya at the end of your journey.
Day 15
Trek from Low Camp to Siding and Drive to Pokhara
- Altitude of Siding: 1700 m
- Trek Duration: 4-5 hours
- Trek Distance: 10 km
- Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
- Accommodation: Teahouse
Start your descent through the high-altitude areas to down to lower forests and pass by small settlement of Kalimati. In the afternoon, you arrive at the end of the trail, the small Gurung village, Siding (1,800 m). From here, enjoy lunch and Gurung hospitality before taking a 2–3 hour (around 30 km) jeep ride back to Pokhara. Return to your lakeside hotel in Pokhara, where you can relax, enjoy a hot shower, and celebrate the trek with a nice dinner. Also, don’t forget to take a stroll at the Lake side while enjoying some drinks.
Day 16
Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu

This final travel day takes you back to Kathmandu. By road, the journey retraces the scenic valley route through hills and countryside, with one last chance to see the Himalayas between the clouds. You will passthrough Bandipur, Kurintar, Naubise and so on. Alternatively, a short domestic flight to Kathmandu is possible but extra charges will be applicable accordingly. Arrive in Kathmandu in the afternoon. Enjoy a farewell dinner in town and reflect on your journey with your friends and guides.

Final Departure

Memories of our trekking with Nepal Royal Tourism in Annapurna Base Camp are etched in my mind forever. One of the best places we have ever visited was Poon Hill for sunrise. Our guide was very calm and encouraging not to mention act very supportive when we had to push our limits. It was such a great feeling to be taken care of by the team at all times both from a safety and comfort point of view. A thoroughly enjoyable, stress-free, and well-planned tour.

Perfect combination trek in Annapurna region
An Annapurna trek for 17 days is a complete package for any individual wanting an extraordinary experience. Nepal Royal Tourism took care of every detail such as permits, logistics and daily scheduling most commendably. Highly Professional Trekking Company in Nepal
Nepal Royal Tourism was our choice for organizing an Annapurna Base Camp and Mardi Himal trekking trip. They were very professional in their method. Every step of the way, starting from the airport pickup in Kathmandu until our final day in Pokhara, was smooth without any hiccup. Our stays were comfortable, food was excellent and the guide was very informative when it came to local culture and mountains. Also, I liked the way the schedule was made in a way that there were popular as well as less crowded paths. This is a trustworthy trekking company in Nepal.

Beautiful Trek with Great Support
The trek was incredibly scenic and Nepal Royal Tourism provided excellent support throughout. Mardi Himal was a highlight for me. There were a few teahouses which were quite basic but that is what you should expect when trekking in the mountains.

Great Experience with Minor Delays
The guide was very informative and the itinerary selected was top class. Due to weather conditions, there were a couple of times when the team had to make a few quick adjustments, but they handled everything very well. I highly recommend this trekking adventure.

Words cannot describe the wonderful views
The trekking was tough but if you ask me it was totally worth the effort. Nepal Royal Tourism came through with great support; also, our guide kept us motivated all along. Words cannot describe the wonderful views we had at Annapurna Base Camp.
