What time will be appropriate for Annapurna Circuit Trek
June through mid-September is the monsoon season in Nepal. That’s when most of the rain falls and rock and Landslides are most likely to appear.
The autumn, between mid-September and mid-November and the spring, between mid-March and mid-April, are the appropriate time for trekking. Weather is usually clear but still wet only in September when the leeches are an annoyance at lower elevations. Since the temperature is tolerable which offers stunning views without any impediment. Spring collects beautiful flowers, plants, and rare animals. Walking is also very much appropriate during this season.
Beyond this, if you want perfect time for the Annapurna Circuit trek then October month is best among all. During this month the weather will be neither rainy nor cold just dry and clear skies.

Day 1
Arrival in Kathmandu
- Altitude: 1350m

We are glad to welcome you to Nepal! Right after your flight landing at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, Nepal Royal Tourism will meet you personally and transfer you to the hotel. As the capital city, Kathmandu predominantly showcases the fusion of the old and new with its centuries-old temples, vibrant bazaars, and busy streets. You could either unwind at the hotel after check-in or take a stroll in the tourist hub of Thamel where multiple trekking stores, restaurants, and cultural spots exist. Toward the night time, we shall do a brief trek orientation and talk about your Annapurna Circuit trek.
Day 2
Drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar and Besisahar to Jagat by Sharing Local Jeep

The story starts with a beautiful ride from Kathmandu to Besisahar where you can admire the pristine nature, terraced fields, and simple village life along the road. Then, after Besisahar, the rest of the traveling will be a local jeep sharing on the rough mountain road going up your Jagat. A drive will show you some wonderful landscapes and introduce you to the mountain lifestyle in the world’s top wilderness of Nepal. You will be tired when you reach Jagat, so just take a rest and get on with your trekking preparation.
Day 3
Trek from Jagat to Dharapani
- Altitude: 1960m
- Distance: 16 km
- Duration: 6 hours

This will be the beginning of your trekking trip. The route is alongside the Marsyangdi River where you are going to visit rural communities, dense jungles, and fields laid out in a stair-like fashion. There will be suspension bridges that you are going to cross, and some stunning places inhabited by different ethnic groups such as the Gurungs and Tibetans will also be visited. The higher you get, the better your scenery will become. Located at the feet of the Annapurna Himalayas, Dharapani is a traditional mountain village where you can get to know the life of local people and their hospitality.
Day 4
Trek from Dharapani to Chame
- Altitude: 2650m
- Distance: 15 km
- Duration: 5 hours

Setting off from the village of Dharapani, the hiking path winds into the calm and tranquil forest full of pine and fir trees. You will walk through the settlements of beautiful and well-maintained villages as the views of the mountains become more and more breathtaking. Besides, intermittent falls and high cliffs are also a good hauteur to this area. Chame, a district center of the Manang region is picturesque mountain town surrounded by spectacular Himalayan peaks which is known for its laid back lifestyle.
Day 5
Trek from Chame to Upper Pisang

- Distance: 14 km
- Duration: 6 hours

The trail today takes you through the lovely forest that is well-dotted by the magnificent mountains. Opening of the valley along with the breathtaking summit of the snow-clad peaks is the visual treat that you will have while ascending. Rock hiking and crossing the bridges are the highlights thus making this section quite memorable. Once at Upper Pisang, you will be able to see the magnificent broad view of the mountain with Annapurna II and other surrounding peaks. Also, the village gives an exposure to Tibetan Buddhist culture and architecture.
Day 6
Trek from Upper Pisang to Manang
- Altitude: 3519m
- Distance: 16 km
- Duration: 6-7 hours
- Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Among the days of the Annapurna Circuit, this will be the most spectacular one. Along the way, you will pass through beautiful traditional Himalayan villages. Besides Ghyaru and Ngawal, which are pretty locations with Tibetan style working and way of life, the trail also has ancient monasteries which you can explore. The climate and environment are becoming drier and more severe, which is a typical feature of the Himalayan rain shadow region. Before reaching Manang, the views of Gangapurna, Annapurna III, and Tilicho Peak are simply magnificent.
Day 7
Acclimatization Day in Manang

Today you will have to keep your body an ideal level of fitness as well as get used to the effects of high altitude by rest and relaxation. If you are that kind of person who cannot sit still, there are lots of opportunities for you to do some level of physical activity. A small hike around the village of Manang or a visit to any of the several glaciers, monasteries, and viewpoints can be done by you. Meanwhile, there are plenty of bakeries and cafés where you can relax while soaking up the stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Besides being a rest day, this day is also for making your body get used to the changes brought about by higher altitudes.
Day 8
Trek from Manang to Yak Kharka
- Altitude: 4110m
- Distance: 10 km
- Duration: 3-4 hours
- Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

The path from Manang through the changing vegetation of the alpine regions and livestock scenes will lead you through open meadows. Yaks and mountain goats are among the animals you might run into when you get off the beaten track and the landscape closes in. The still environment and breathtaking mountains will make you further enjoy this day. Yak Kharka is a minor seasonal settlement surrounded by beautiful high Himalayan scenery.
Day 9
Trek from Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi
- Altitude: 4450m
- Distance: 7 km
- Duration: 3-4 hours
- Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
- Accommodation: Tea House
Today’s trek takes us away from the beaten path into the heart of the high mountain wilderness. The trail follows the contours of the mountain and slopes surrounded by massive and stunning peaks. When you get to Thorong Phedi, (the base camp area of Thorong La Pass), you must be feeling very excited with a more adventurous atmosphere around you. Day 10
Trek from Thorong Phedi to Muktinath via Thorong La Pass
- Altitude: 5416m
- Distance: 15 km
- Duration: 7-8 hours
- Meal: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
- Accommodation: Tea House
This is the most physically and mentally demanding as well as the most satisfying day on the Annapurna Circuit trek. Very early in the morning, you shall start the ascent of the legendary Thorong La Pass, which is one of the world’s highest trekking passes. Achieving the final summit of the pass will surely be an unforgettable moment in your life and the reward will be the spectacular Himalayan mountain views. After having the party at the pass, you will be heading down to Muktinath, the holy temple area sacred to Hindus and Buddhists.
Day 11
Trek from Muktinath to Jomsom

- Distance: 18 km
- Duration: 5 hours

The trek today will take you down through the bizarre landscapes associated with the Mustang region that is famous for its bare valleys, towering vertical canyon walls, and Tibetan-type villages. On the way there, you will go through Kagbeni, an exquisite medieval village famous for its narrow winding streets and traditional architecture. Jomsom is a famous mountain town surrounded by cold winds and apple orchards, near which you will definitely be able to see the faces of Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri.
Day 12
Drive from Jomsom to Pokhara
- Altitude: 822m
- Distance: 154 km
- Duration: 8 hours
- Meal: Breakfast and Lunch

The drive from Jomsom to Pokhara is a lengthy, if adventurous, journey, while the much shorter option of a direct flight is also an option. With enough time, a side trip to nearby Tatopani and its natural hot springs is also available and certainly worth considering for its recuperative effects on weary limbs.
Pokhara is the most attractive lakeside city in Nepal that provides a beautifully relaxing environment after your mountain adventure. You could be loitering in the Phewa Lake area, sipping local coffee in cafes, or simply kicking back as you reminisce about your trek experience.
Day 13
Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu

You will be returning to Kathmandu via road from Pokhara. The road takes you through the beautiful hills, rivers, and villages of the countryside. This drive will offer you a final opportunity to appreciate the natural environment of Nepal. When you get to Kathmandu, you should be able to find some great opportunities for shopping in the local markets and other entertainment options including relaxing at the hotel. In the evening, most trekkers enjoy a farewell dinner to celebrate their successful completion of the Annapurna Circuit Trek.
