It lies directly on the Tibetan frontier there is a wild, lonely high valley the “Rolwaling” which is called simply “the grave” by the native Sherpa’s on account of its location – buried down between steep ice-giants. Trekking through this region should pass through covering the mountain terrain of the Nepal-China (Tibet) border, then the trail pass goes between huge mountains along glaciers which are situated in eastern parts.

In between the Everest and Langtang regions lies the Rolwaling valley which is the stunning mid-Eastern range of the Himalayas. It consists of famous peaks such as Mount Ghauri Shankar, Dorje Lakpa, and many others. It is also known as one of the seven hidden valleys in the Himalayas which lies A few miles south of the Tibetan border. This is a wild and barely explored district where ancient tales of “Yeti”, haunt the imagination of climbers.

The journey to Rolwaling begins from Dolakha, near Charikot, which is at an eight-hour drive from Kathmandu. Trek can also be started by crossing Tashi Lapcha. Some technical mountaineering skills and equipment are required for this adventure. During this trek, trekkers will also be enjoying the beauty of Tsho-Rolpa which is the largest Glacier Lake in Nepal.

Rolwaling trekking leads through the remote and beautiful parts of Nepal’s majestic sherpa, Tamang and Chhetri village with their typical terraced fields, through a dense primeval forest with wonderful views.
